Don’t Let This Through Your Garage Door

Cockroaches, spiders and snakes… oh my!

Creepy crawlers are just a part of living in the sunshine state. During the hot and rainy summer months, they seem to always find a way to sneak into your cool home. However, as a homeowner, you don’t have to make it easy for them.

One way to keep the bugs and hot air out of your home is to ensure your garage door is sealed shut.

Do me a favor and walk out to your garage door. When shut, do you see light coming from the sides or even the top of your garage door? If the answer is yes, you should consider new vinyl trim to seal up those gaps.

Most older homes have a wood trim that often times absorbs all the water and rots out at the bottom over the course of a few years. New vinyl trim will replace the old wooden trim and last decades. The vinyl can be ordered in a wide variety of colors, and it’s really easy to paint if you go that route.

Now, let’s discuss the base of your garage door. The bottom rubber is essential for making sure your garage door is sealed. It will keep the bugs out of your garage and block out water. (However it does not FULLY protect water from getting inside in case of a strong storm or flooding)

You should make sure the bottom rubber on your garage door is in good shape. It shrinks in the sun and can tear over the years.  Garage Force One offers same-day service on new bottom rubbers – we also call it weather stripping.

We focused a lot of our attention on blocking out bugs, but it is also important to note that sealing your garage door helps block out the heat and therefore, allows you to save a few extra bucks a month on your energy bill. Who doesn’t want to save money?

Call Garage Force One NOW to get your garage door sealed. Our service comes with a FREE safety inspection. Mention this article and get an extra $10 off!
